A partnership between Crittenden Memorial Hospital (CMH) and Delta AHEC
North. The goals of the Tobacco Control Clinic are to: Prevent tobacco use
among citizens of Crittenden County and neighboring communities; Maintain
capacity to conduct smoking cessation programs; Communicate information to
constituents and the public about risks associated with tobacco usage; Work
with healthcare professionals to implement educational programs and research
studies targeting tobacco related diseases. In an effort to meet the
growing individual needs of the community, TCC offers the following
programs:
Finally Free from Tobacco (FFFT) - This clinical program
uses behavior modification, over-the-counter and prescribed smoking
cessation aides, and the American Cancer Society's Freshstart Curriculum;
Smoking Cessation In-Patient Counseling - A counseling referral program
designed to provide CMH patients with one-on-one cessation counseling and an
invitation to enroll in the cessation program appropriate for them; Healthy
Mommy, Healthy Baby Program - A cessation program to assist pregnant women
who want to quit smoking; American Lung Association's "Not On Tobacco" - A
10 week cessation program and support group for teenagers who are trying to
quit smoking; Worksite Cessation Programs - Utilizing FFFT, cessation
counselors, equipment and materials are taken to the workplace to assist
groups of employees in successfully quitting tobacco products; Speakers
Bureau - Cessation Counselors are available to present information about
statistics, diseases, and cessation activities. Presentations are available
