Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition

The Delta Area Health Education Center serves as the lead agency for the Phillips County Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition. The coalition has been in existence since 1999. The coalition has 49 members and is composed of representatives from the local school districts including parents and students, several community based organizations, county and city government officials, the local health department, service agencies, and the faith community.

The Coalition meets approximately every six weeks at the Delta AHEC facility. The Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition is funded by a grant from the Arkansas Department of Health. The coalition provides training and materials for implementation of five curricula that the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has found effective in preventing teen pregnancy and STD including HIV/AIDS.

Contact Ollie White  if you would like to become a coalition member or would like further information.
