Each year surveys are mailed to former M*A*S*H participants asking them to indicate their college major. Since the summer of 2000 there have been 873 surveys returned, with 300 participants indicating a major in a health care field.
An additional 179 participants wrote in a major in a science related field. That is 55% of the survey respondents indicating either a science or health care major after completing their training. Overall, 40% (348/873) survey respondents indicate that MASH encouraged them to consider a health career.
